Cefotax

active principle : cephotaxime
route : S/C - I/V - I/M
dose : 50 mg / kg / day / divided 2 doses
uses : meningitis
septicemia
bone - joints
urinary affections
resp affections
surgery
abdominal affections
side effect : GIT disturbance

Xithrone - Azomycin - Zithromax

active principle : macrolides - aziithromycin
use : resp tract affections " upper + lower "
otitis media
skin & soft tissue
dose :
if dog : 10 mg / kg / 24 hr
if cat : 5 mg / kg / 24 hr
before meal by 1 hr or after by 2 hrs
route : orally
side effect : severe diarrhea

Sutrime

active principle : sulphonamide + trimethoprime
sulphonamide : prevent first step in folic acid synthesis in bacteria
trimethoprime : prevent second step in folic acid synthesis
so together : bactericidal effect

use : resp tract infection
urinary tract infection
bacterial GIT infection
as
anal sac inflammation - abscessation
in dog : infectious tracheobronchitis
lower urinary tract infection
pyelonephritis
prostatitis
can also used in skin & soft tissue infection

dose :
initial : 50 mg / kg
maintenance : 25 mg / kg

route : orally / 12 hrs
for 2 days after disapperance of symptoms
long acting

ملحوظه :
sulphonamides not used mostly in pets
و تقول لصاحب الحاله انه يوفر الماء علشان لها تأثير جانبى على الكليه
